Early Childhood:  Birth - Transitional Kindergarten

Your child will love the tender care our staff and volunteers provide each week in their class.  We minister to each child’s body, soul and spirit.  We have specific play times with popular toys and fun games to engage the kids and show them church is fun.  We are purposeful to help kids make friends with other kids while understanding they are important and loved.  We then sing songs to Jesus and learn about how God made me, loves me, and how Jesus wants to be my friend forever.

Your birth - 18 month old will love the interactive classes and consistency of staff in these rooms.  We not only play and cuddle your baby, but we pray over them and teach them Jesus loves them with a simple lesson taught each week.  Enjoy our feeding mother’s room or sit in the room with your child as well.  You and your baby are welcome.

Early Childhood

Your child will run ahead of you in anticipation of the fun experiences we have in these classes.   Each service we separate our 18 month- Transitional Kindergartners  in age-appropriate classes where they will find toys and activity times specifically aimed at their level.  Music and a fun lesson make the experience complete.

Child Dedication

The ceremony is a covenant between the parents and God concerning the raising of their child. Child Dedication normally takes place 4 times a year on the 5th Sunday of the month during the 12:30 service. Prior to the dedication we offer a mandatory class for the parents where we explain the process and answer any questions you may have.

Kindergarten - Fifth Grade

Kids love to discover the world around them in an attempt to determine their own talents and pleasures.  Your child will have that opportunity in our unique services designed for their phase of life.  We will help them understand that they need to make the wise choice, they can trust God no matter what, and they should treat others the way they want to be treated.

Kids Church

Your child starts in graded classes engaging with other kids the same age as them creating friendships and exploring social involvement.  We then transition to a large group experience with music, media, skits, and interactive lessons in a specially themed room for them.  Kids return to their class for small group times with their leaders where we discuss what they learned and pray together.

Kids Club

Wednesday night kids come together to experience fun, make friends, and explore the gifts that God created within them. Kids choose the club they want to join between: Worship Arts, Discovery Zone, Health & Home, Parks & Rec, Kid Lead, & Creation Station.

We believe that baptism is available for all believers in Christ. A child who wishes to be baptized should have a good grasp of why they want to get baptized and the significance of baptism for them – at an age appropriate level. We ask that a child wait until they are in 1st grade or older before being baptized and the child and parent/guardian must meet with the Kids Pastor to determine their readiness.

Small groups have one, simple purpose:
To bring people together.

We believe God created us to live in relationship with others and only then can we live the full life He intends for us. Sharing life through community is part of our design, but meaningful relationships aren’t always easy to find. That’s why small groups exist—to make these life-changing relationships relevant and accessible to you.

What are Small Groups?

A small group is an intentional gathering where you can connect, receive care and work toward a common cause by being involved in the lives of others and the community.

Why should I join a Small Group?

It is the best way to get connected at Visalia First. Small groups make our large church personal. It is through doing life together that God uses others to bring healing, support and encouragement into our lives. Your small group will quickly become a place to know and be known, love and be loved.

Whether you're a long-time Christian of 50 years or this is your first time in a church, we want to connect you with God and others so that your life is changed for the better. The best way to do that at Visalia First is to get involved in a ministry where others are in your age or stage.
