With meager beginnings in 1928, brave men and women of God overcame relentless spiritual attacks and built our church on prayer and the Presence of God.
Our world is changing at lightning speed, but there is one thing that has not changed: the power of the gospel and a Spirit-filled church.
Visalia First has a long history of reaching people in our community and around the world with the one thing that can change a person's life more than anything: the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Pastor Mark Merrill
After being elected as Lead Pastor in early 2022, Merrill and his family relocated from the state of Georgia, where he served as the Georgia Network Superintendent for the Assemblies of God. Prior to that role, he pastored The Assembly at Warner Robins. His passion is to strengthen the local church in ways that bring renewal and revitalization. He is a graduate of George Fox Evangelical Seminary with a Doctor of Ministry degree in Semiotics, Church, & Culture.
